  • Bad layout poor content

    I haven't been getting White Dwarf weekly since the change in format. I tried the first issue but was very disappointed and haven't tried it again until now. However with the release of the Wood Elves I thought I would try again. They where the first models I collected, Scarloc's Wood Elf Scouts, nearly 30 years ago. I picked up last weeks issue in store and it's not that bad. It's laid out fairly well but the content was pretty shallow. With nothing much in it that I haven't been able able to get off the GW Website and with the release of the Army Book a week later it's almost completely pointless. White Dwarf is now an early sneak peak with a shelf life of a week. Use the Website and wait a week and get the Army book and save your money. I also decided to give the iPad version another try this week. Don't bother the format is terrible small images that you can't zoom, random blank pages and text and pictures on different pages so they don't tie up. It looks like an amateur newsletter that anyone could have knocked up on MS Word. The iPad monthly White used technology to enhance the experience not make it worse. The content this week was worse than last week, the Battle Report is terrible. They should drop these if they not going to do them properly. So in summary avoid the iPad version it's awful and only get the paper version if you are passing the shop and can't wait a week. I spent £5.80 on 2 issues which gave about an hours reading and have no long term value and this was when the content was for one of my favourite armies.
