    How fitting that I have just finished reading this book today, on Remembrance Sunday.. harrowing memories of prisoners of war, true tales of life in concentration camps and an ending that filled my eyes with tears of happiness. I’ve never been more moved by a book in my life! Definitely recommend! 100% worth a read, it’s so emotional. The author did such a fantastic job of telling Lale Sokolov’s story. Brutal to read in parts but nothing compared to what they suffered in Auschwitz-Birkenau! 🌺 Lest We Forget 🌺

    When learning about this atrocity at school it always seemed like a horror story that couldn’t possibly be true, but this book really helps to sink in just how true it all was. This book really touched my heart and I feel that I will always carry a piece of Lale with me, it’s one of those books you will never forget. The day I finished this book I booked a trip to Auschwitz to see it all for myself and it was the best yet worst trip of my life, so educational yet so devastating. I will recommend this book to everyone I can, these personal stories need to be heard.

    I am not a big reader in truth, but this book caught my eye. I have always wanted to know more about what happened during the Holocaust and this book gives a genuine insight. Great read and well done to the author for sticking with it, it must have been very difficult to go on listening to Lale tell you of the horrors he endured.
